About

We listen, act, and transform

I come from a client centered, strengths-based perspective and approach my work from a non-judgmental stance, knowing and trusting only you are the expert in your life! I believe personal growth happens within relation to others, insight and vulnerability, my role is to support you through that process. My style is casual, compassionate, based in trauma informed and multicultural perspectives providing a comfortable environment which allows for connection. My approach combines multiple therapeutic modalities including EMDR, solution focused, dialectical, family systems, and mindfulness-based bio-psycho-social framework going beyond traditional talk therapy. My perspective when working with couples comes from a solution focused perspective, helping couples find their way back to connection, communication, mutual understanding and trust. As couples’ stressors increase, our connection with our partner can start to break down. I have training from The Gottman Institute for couples counseling. The Gottman Method utilizes research-based interventions to improve communication, increase intimacy, mutual respect while increasing the closeness within the relationship. With more than 20 years of experience in mental health counseling, I have worked with clients on many issues including anxiety, depression, identity and self-esteem issues, emotional expression, grief, and problems resulting from growing up where there was addiction or trauma. I am gender affirming and have a strong passion for work with folks within the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC/AAIP communities. I have extensive college counseling center experience, and enjoy working with this population and understand the difficulties that often emerge during this transitional process. Through hope and healing communication, I will support and empower you while you build your authentic life. We all have challenges in life, allowing yourself to talk and be vulnerable will assist in envisioning the future you want, finding clarification, healing and solace regarding choices and life situations.
